Accolades for Hacia el Sol Rojo
From Lima, Peru come La Ira de Dios, a three piece intent on carving their own niche next to current greats like Colour Haze and SubArachnoid Space within the vast spectrum of psychedelic rock. Theres a heavy 70s rock vibe to Hacia el Sol Rojo, one that stems indirectly from Pink Floyd and Hawkwind. Starting with the instrumental first track , La Ira de Dios, like all good psychedelic rock bands, fly through the cosmos. Unlike the contemporaries mentioned above, the band is more rooted in the classic 70s rock sound. Its classic boogie from another era. As far as atmospheric space rock goes, Hacia el Sol Rojo deserves to be mentioned among the greats. This could easily be the Colour Haze of 2005.
Very atmospheric, Yajaira-ish but more diverse and dynamic. They have this psychedelic space sound with a leading rhythm section but when the rhythm breaks down the beautiful melancholic guitar takes over. Every song takes you on its own trip. This is music for '70s and Krautrock lovers, for fans of Yajaira and Los Natas.
