Accolades for Death to Music
I don't know, man, there is just something so vivid and mind-bending about the music of offbeat noise junkies Nightstick. With enough sadistic vocals, uneven drums and guitar riffs that fade in and out, Death to Music is the perfect symbol of an all night bender gone way out of control. Think "rockbottom, lying in an alley way" which is the kind of feelings you end up with after a few listens. Rocking enough to draw you in, yet unpleasant enough to make you want to turn away. Nightstick somehow keep it busy and that is a good thing. Music intended for those who walk the earth fucked up 24 hours a day.
At its most basic level Nightstick are Sabbath influenced stoner acid rock with the grind mentality of labelmates Bongzilla. But whereas Bongzilla's Stash is a one liner, Death to Music is overabundant with inventiveness, experiment and brashness. It's just hard to describe. You've got to experienced it.
