In late 1999, the powerhouse, noise-punk trio Below The Sound emerged from the desert oasis of Albuquerque, NM, when brothers Chris and Brian Roy (Ex-members of MINDWAR, which also featured Desi of HIGH ON FIRE) met Dennis Ponozzo (ex-The Resistance). Unabashed musical aggression followed.... Soon Their stripped down recipe of noisy but precise guitar work, grooving overly-distorted bass, and pounding atypical drum smashing began to garner them respect within the underground rock scene. Combine with Ponozzo's double-edged, intelligent lyrics and libretto, and you have the formula for some of the most unforgiving and unforgettable music you will ever hear. More Like A Gunshot Than A Carwreck is the highly anticipated second release from these Southwest Rockers, featuring seven songs of high powered noise rock that combines Am Rep styled heaviness with 'desert rock' sensibilities, and a melodic edge that recollects Naked Raygun in their prime.
