Accolades for Divine Propaganda
The debut album from Wino's new band channels all the power and thunder of Wino's earlier groups -- Spirit Caravan, St. Vitus, The Obsessed -- and updates their trademark heaviness with a new dose of aggression.
It's no surprise that most people think that everything Wino touches is majestic and The Hidden Hand is nothing short of what is expected. Although it's not your typical full blown doom project, it's definitely doom tinged and way more progressive and psychedelic. Wino is wielding the awesome guitar tactics, along with a rhythm section of Bruce Falkinburg on bass and Dave Hennesey on drums. Regardless of the political statements, musically it involves Wino and a kick ass rhythm section and is definitely worth checking out. Another great CD from one of the mad geniuses of heavy rock.
This album is one of the best Wino has done since...? Doesn't matter as it stands on its own feet. Must be the best rhythm section Wino ever had. Compared to Spirit Caravan, all this stuff sounds much more fresh and inspired. I especially dig the tons of guitar FX Wino uses and how well his and Bruce's vocals work together. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
