Rarely will you get an album that from the outset will have you going 'aww yeah!' Dern Rutlidge's first long player 'Johnny No Stars' is one of those gems.

Christ this cd is growing on me! I was impressed at first by the raw punk like energy that pervades the album, now its the deceptively intricate guitar lines, the individuality of the riffs, somehow the groove of stonerrock mixed with the melodic/punk (not melodic punk) inspirations of kurt cobain. Fuckin' ripper!

This CD sits above alot other stuff coming out lately. Dern prove stoner can be hooky, melodic and dare i say it accessable and heavy as fuck, with variety in the songs, this one is a corker.
