| Mike Faulkner, bassist for southern doom rawkers Artimus Pyledriver, was nearly killed last Tuesday on I-285 near Atlanta. Mike was crusin` along on his raked out `62 Ironhead when a pot hole jumped out in the middle of the road. The front tire stopped, but Mike didnt. 75 feet later he was life-flighted to Atlanta Medical Center`s I.C.U. unit with a fractured jaw, broken hand, a non-life threatening blood clot near his temple, and some really bad road-rash. After 3 days in ICU, and some facial reconstructive surgery, he was allowed to go home. Mike is now resting comfortably (with a metal plate in his face) and is scheduled to make a full recovery (if he doesnt get hooked on pain-killers, sweet sweet morphine). Mike`s been on the scene awhile having played with Joe (Gonzalez) former band Low Born Poor, and with underground sludgesters DIN. Mike will be back in action, hopefully, before the end of the year, until then Damon Goldsmith will be moving from rhythm guitar to bass for all upcoming shows. If you ride a chopper take it a little easier today and watch out for them potholes! www.artimuspyledriver.com |
