Accolades for Brimstone Blues
This is surging, pulsating, beer-drenched rock, obvious from the outset. Imagine if Kyuss had lived next door to Guns N' Roses with Motorhead as their landlord. A glorious mindfuck of sweaty rock 'n' roll, showing that Finland doesn't just generate power metal or bad Eurovision entries. This may well be something to do with having a Canadian-born frontman (and an ex-pro wrestler no less), but the rest of the band have that 70s-drenched six-string swagger down just fine, regardless. Songs like 'Cosmic Dancer' and 'Tragedy Man' have a heavier edge than you'd usually find in 'stoner' rock, while still maintaining the 'put-rock-first' attitude of the genre. Great stuff. Great riffs. Fucking great album!
An unbelievable band here of Canadian and Finnish guys in which there's 5 total churning out some Heavy Metal meets Stoner Rock. Nothing fancy, just in-your-face heavy music, great solos and the taste for the Blues. Somewhere these guys are caught up in a 70's retro like Cheap Trick, Ramones and Sabbath with some modern stuff like Kyuss, Trouble and a faster St.Vitus. One of those CD's you'll play from beginning to end with no complaints as every song takes on it's own energy and identity. Absolutely worth getting a copy of this and Indie is where it's at! Grab your cash and your stash when checking these guys out; all real and bonified Heavy Metal!
