This is some swamp sludge, down and dirty whiskey drenched (hence the title)blues rock. Comes across with the same sort of energy that bands like Sixty Watt Shaman have. Big Block Hitchcock closely resembles bands like Mississippi Sludge, Suplecs or the Glasspack in the sense that it's pretty straight ahead southern drenched heavy rock. They have a simple sound that just trucks along like a fully loaded train on a straight stretch. Tuned down guitars, heavy riffs and thick tones. Get this one if you are into the southern stoner stuff...Grab a sixer of Schlitz, put it in, turn it on and crank it up! Classic rock southern blues sludge done right.

Holy shit! If you dig Dixie Witch, All Night, ATP or any of the other killers...check these cats out! I checked out the whole CD and let me say this could easily be in my top ten for the year. Dare I say even above the mighty Sixty Watt Shaman?!?! Its all about the soul of the vocals (kinda reminds me of Pat Travers).
