Accolades for Self Titled
Their sound is heavy on the chugga-chugga guitar, influenced by the all-seeing Sabbath, as well as southern tunesmiths like COC, Crowbar, and maybe a bit of Pantera, with some punk thrown in on the side. One of the highlights of the album is their tribute to Ronnie James Dio, Holy Dio. Its goofy as hell, and in a way it goes to the heart of the record, which is to have a good time with some heavy tuneage. When discussing the Heavy Sounds of Big Baby Satan, bands such as Life of Agony, Audioslave, Crowbar, and Pantera must be mentioned in the very same sentence. The vocals tend to bring to mind a cross of Henry Rollins, Chris Cornell, and Keith Caputo. So as you see, BBS have taken the best of many worlds and blended them in their unique way to come up with a sound unlike any other.
