Comprehensive Kyuss Song List

[Kyuss] [News] [Discography] [Trades] [Contact] [Me Me Me] [Conspiracy]

Sons Of Kyuss
  1. Deadly Kiss
  2. Window of Souls
  3. King
  4. Isolation Desolation
  5. Love Has Passed Me By
  6. Black Widow
  7. Happy Birthday
  8. Katzenjammer
You would be undoubtedly unhappy to hear that this is extremely rare. Of a pressing of, I dunno, 500->1000 12" LPs of this, I know of only 4 or 5 people who have a copy (not including myself who is too far out of the action to get SHIT). The pressing was done on clear 12" vinyl similar to the clear used for the Gamma Ray Man's Ruin release. There are only a few left that band members are clinging to as far as I can tell so availability is next to *zero*, much like Sky Valley 'Part Two' 12".

Wretch
  1. [Beginning of What's About to Happen] Hwy 74
  2. Love Has Passed Me By
  3. Son of a Bitch
  4. Black Widow
  5. Katzenjammer
  6. Deadly Kiss
  7. The Law
  8. Isolation
  9. I'm Not
  10. Big Bikes
  11. Stage III
You know, I still love this one even tho so much has come since this album and the sound has changed massively between here and Circus. It is so fresh still after 7 years and I love every minute of it. It would seem that many don't share this sentiment though as no one has bothered to send me lyrics or geetar tab for this album or the Sons Of Kyuss album. It is largely overlooked, much like the vital part that Chris Goss played in production of the later albums.

Blues For The Red Sun
  1. Thumb
  2. Green Machine
  3. Molten Universe
  4. 50 Million Year Trip (downside up)
  5. Thong Song
  6. Apothecaries' Weight
  7. Caterpillar March
  8. Freedom Run
  9. 800
  10. Writhe
  11. Capsized
  12. Allen's Wrench
  13. Mondo Generator
  14. Yeah
My first acquisition, and by far my favourite Kyuss release.

Green Machine (single)
  1. Green Machine
  2. Thong Song
Boooooring. Just the two songs with exactly the same versions. It had a blurb on the back (which you can read from dominic's discography cuz I am too lazy) written by the much known and also lazy Murray Englehardt (spelt wrongly undoubtedly). Cover art is on Dominic's site once more and it was just the skyscraping Amp with miscellaneous blues-era kyuss writing.

Hot Metal Magazine "Blues For The Red Sun" Sampler
  1. ???
  2. ???
  3. ???
All I know is that this had 3 or 4 tracks and was a free sampler tape to promote Blues just before Kyuss' tour with Metallica. Cover art is on the way. This probably had Green Machine, Allens Wrench, and Apothecaries Weight. Oh yeah, I suppose since Freedom Run was always a fave. it would most likely be included too.

Demon Cleaner
  1. Demon Cleaner
  2. Day One
  3. El Rodeo*
  4. Hurricane*
This CD was released in Australia (*only*, as far as I know) and had the same songs as turned up on the EURO & US single's Pt1. This was not sold as a 2 CD set here.

(Part One)

  1. Demon Cleaner
  2. Day One
  3. El Rodeo*
  4. Hurricane*
* Although the tracks turned up on Circus they appear here as slightly different takes (take two aaaand *action*) than those put on the album

(Part Two)

  1. Demon Cleaner
  2. Gardenia [Live]#
  3. Thumb [Live]#
  4. Conan Troutman [Live]#
# Recorded at the Marquee Club, Hamburgh May 24, 1994.

I only have a COPY of this from a kind soul in Holland, so I am very seriously seeking a trade for this little gem in exchange for most things.

In the UK this was sold in a Jewel case containing Part1 and you could buy Part2 seperately and it would go into the same case (double CD case) The inner sleeve of the back of this version had a really cool picture of the inside of the house that is shown (the outside is shown) in most promo pics of the band circa 1994. They are all sitting round a fire chilling out.

(Edit)

  1. Demon Cleaner [Edit]
This is ELEKTRA Prcd 9023-3. It comes in a case (not stinkey cardboard) and has one of the photos from the Sky Valley sleeve on the front. Pics will be up soon for it.

(Promo 7" single)

  1. [a] Demon Cleaner
  2. [b] Freedom Run [live]
This disc was released as a Sky Blue pressing of 7" vinyl where the live track was recorded from the infamous Marquee Club show in Hamburgh. It has the same cover as the CD version's second CD. According to a reliable source this single was released as a promotional item for stores to play around the same time as the other singles were released. If anyone else has this please don't hesitate to
mail me because I would love to see how many of these are floating around as I have never heard of it before.

Part Three EP
  1. Odyssey
  2. Conan Troutman
  3. N.O.
  4. Whitewater
The CD of this had little (albeit cool) cover art. The songs are exactly the same and there is only one track with 4 indexes on the disc.

Sky Valley

  1. Part One
      Gardenia
      Asteroid
      Supa Scoopa And Mighty Scoop

  2. Part Two
      100 Degrees
      Space Cadet
      Demon Cleaner

  3. Part Three
      Odyssey
      Conan Troutman
      N.O.
      Whitewater

  4. Lick Doo
There is also apparently, (according to [email protected]) a pressing of this CD which contained all of the songs in a 12 track format. Since there are only 10 songs (11 counting Lick Doo), I am wondering what the other song is.
Anyone else?

It seems that Jadd strikes again in informing that this was a promo for radio stations to play and was only a 10 track thing with all songs the same, excepting Lick Doo of course, but they are individually track-listed on the disc.

Kyuss Live At The Marquee Club
    (Cassette)
  1. Gardenia [Live]
  2. Thumb [Live]
  3. Conan Troutman [Live]
  4. Freedom Run [Live]
The Cassette version was released individually as a promo item with Australia's first 3000 copies of Kyuss' Sky Valley album.

    (CD)
  1. Gardenia
  2. Thumb
  3. Conan Troutman
  4. Freedom Run
This version of the Marquee Club show in St. Pauli, Germany was both released as a part of a 2 CD set with Sky Valley as released in the first 3000 German copies of the album, plus some few copies were made of a Promo CD in a cardboard sleeve for radio and shop promotional use.

Gardenia
  1. Gardenia
  2. UnSandpiper
  3. Conan Troutman [Live]
Now here we have a CD that eludes me no more. The live track was once more taken from the widely circulated recording from the Marquee Club, Hamburgh, Germany but edited in such a way as to be almost unrecognisably live.

Part Two EP
  1. 100 Degrees
  2. Space Cadet
  3. Demon Cleaner
Until recently, I have kinda just taken Dominic's word for it that this existed, however, a dude from Germany contacted me and informed me of the fact that it does, not only exist, but it appeared as a one sided promo 12" released only in the UK. I have no word on availability tho. I would imagine that would be nil, or next to that.

One Inch Man
(& 3 Bonus Tracks)
  1. One Inch Man
  2. Flip The Phase
  3. Mudfly
  4. A Day Early A Dollar Extra
(edit)
  1. One Inch Man
Not really much to say about this. I have been told that the later tracks on the "Maxi" (pad) single have been taken from the Rancho De La Luna session that Kyuss undertook and then broke up. I dont really know. I suppose looking at the Cd cover would probably help...

Desert Heavies
  1. Intro
  2. Allen's Wrench
  3. 100 degrees
  4. Supa Scoopa And Mighty Scoop
  5. N.O.
  6. White Water
  7. Green Machine
  8. One Inch Man
  9. Freedom Run
  10. 800 (actually El Rodeo)
  11. 50 Million Year Trip (Downside Up)
  12. Conan Troutman
  13. Odyssey
  14. Molten Universe
  15. Thumb
These tracks are all recorded Live at the Circolo Degli Artisi, Rome on the 21st, February 1995.
The sound quality is rather dubious and it sounds like the recording has been done on a cheap recorder, as the audio keeps clipping off the end of the samples on the CD. With proper equalisation it is possible to reduce the noise but obtaining live tapes from Mr Salisbury would seem to me to be a better choice since his tapes are of far better quality than this CD.

And The Circus Leaves Town...
  1. Hurricane
  2. One Inch Man
  3. Thee Ol' Boozeroony
  4. Gloria Lewis
  5. Phototropic
  6. El Rodeo
  7. Jumbo Blimp Jumbo
  8. Tangy Zizzle
  9. Size Queen
  10. Catamaran
  11. Spaceship Landing
  12. Day One
The pre-release promo version of this, at least in the UK, had totally different cover art and CD art than the album ended up containing. No scans are available as yet but be sure I am trying to obtain them.

Shine (split 7")
  1. [a]Shine
  2. [b]Short Term Memory Loss
Apparently this was also released as a CD single from Bongload on which the number was BJ26CD and the track listing was the same (without the side a & b) but both CD and 7" have been recently deleted from production.

If Only Everything
  1. [a] If Only Everything
  2. [b] Born To Hula

Into The Void
  1. [a] Into The Void
  2. [b] Fatso Forgetso
This 10" single was initially released on Purple, partially transparent vinyl and shortly thereafter was re-issued on yellow 10" vinyl. I think they both remain MR015 though.

Slo Burn Demo
  1. Wheel Fall
  2. Cactus Jumper
  3. Positiva

Black Jeweler
  1. Wheel Fall
  2. Born To Hula
  3. If only Everything
  4. Into The Void
  5. Fatso Forgetso
  6. Un Sandpiper
  7. Flip The Phase
  8. Mudfly
  9. A Day Early A Dollar Extra
  10. Shine
  11. Gardenia
  12. Thumb
  13. Conan Troutman
  14. Freedom Run
Although these songs are on every disk the order was shuffled so that none of the disks has an identical track listing. Some of the later issues had the Queens of the Stone Age track rather than Shine or Wheel Fall.

Amusing the Amazing EP
  1. Pilot The Dune
  2. Muezli
  3. July
  4. Prize Fighter

Kyuss - Mercurious Pools
  1. Gardenia
  2. One Inch Man
  3. Supa Scoopa & Mighty Scoop
  4. Conan Troutman
  5. Thumb
  6. Shallow
  7. Green Machine
  8. 50 Million Year Trip
  9. 100
  10. Fatso Forgetso
  11. Freedom Run
  12. Odyssey
  13. Allen's Wrench
  14. Apothecarie's Weight
  15. N.O.
  16. Flip The Phase
This newly made CD is pressed in only a batch of 500 copies, the Cd is recorded live, a show from July 28, 1995 @ The Back Room, Austin Texas. Apparently it is excellent quality (unlike the much circulated Desert Heavies) and worth the $19.50 from
AsylumNews. Here you can order with VISA and MAstercard!! Easy as pie and I will definately be getting a couple.

Kyuss/Queens of the Stone Age
  1. Into The Void
  2. Fatso Forgetso
  3. Fatso Forgetso Phase II (Flip The Phase)
  4. If Only Everything
  5. Born to Hula
  6. Spiders and Vinegaroons
The 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th tracks have all been released prior to this release on vinyl from Man's Ruin. The audio quality is of course better and will hopefully wear much better, but the mix is somewhat different. Listen to Born to Hula and check out the background geetar on the intro section and the rythm (right channel I think) and you will hear as an example of the different mix the fact that the guitar here is much less audible. Number 3 was released previously on the One Inch Man single as a B-Side but the last track was unreleased prior to this CD. It is a fucking cool Kyuss meets My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult song and it rocks (not in the traditional Aus. pub band sense but rocks nonetheless) and as I am a big TKK fan, this track is much appreciated. Purchase this Cd if only for that track.

The Desert Sessions - Instrumental Driving Music For Felons
  1. ???
  2. ???
  3. ???
  4. ???
I know that this has four tracks but I havn't got the vinyl with me so I cant tell you what the track list is. The pressing is on deep, sea blue, transparent vinyl and the music is kind of Beatles era brit pop if you want to shove it into a specific genre. Very cruzy.
