"Secret Alphabets", as the 2nd full-length is entitled was recorded in periods between December 2002 and march 2003 due to technical problems in the studio.
It was as well as previous releases recorded at the Rockhouse Studio in Borlnge w/ Bengt Bcke at the helm. As you might expect, it`s a little bit different from "Revolution Rock". "RR" had 4 instrumentals out of 9, where this has 1 out of 10. We think it`s more interesting with vocals but I`m sure there`s a lot of people who`ll disagree.. hehe. I personally think, besides having better songs this time around, that the biggest improvement from "RR" is the vocals. I think Fredrik was good on "RR", but he`s topped that by far on this one. Not really sure when the album`s gonna be out, but my guess is late summer 2003.
Also this is the first time not being released through Molten Universe. The honour has been passed on to Small Stone.
01: 3679
You`ll just have to wait and see what this is...
02: 10 000 YEARS OF REVOLUTION
The oldest of the songs. I think it was the first song we wrote when we got together and started rehearsing again. A simple straight in-your-face rocktune.
03: WITCHCRAFT TONIGHT
Another one we wrote early on. I love the vocals on this tune. Melodies and dubs are excellent. Bengt has a little bass solo in there which is great. Bengt "Entwistle" Bcke.
04: NEVER RIGHT
This is one of Bengt`s tunes.. cause he`s never right.. hehe. One of the groovier songs, with first time appearance by vocalist Singe.. don`t know if that`s his real name or nickname or what. I think this song was were my drums got their hardest beating. I just punish em.
05: THE COMBINATION
A slow mellow, kinda hypnotic tune with sort of an egyptic vibe in the middlesection. It`s musicwise a bit like one of the instrumentals of "RR", but with vox.
06: THE SPECTRE
The albums first and only instrumental! Cool & short James Bond-ish rock with like a freeform jazzthing in the middle. Sounds weird, I know, but it works perfect.
07: ONE MORE YEAR
This song was originally meant just to be an intro. If you saw us in Germany or Belgium september `02 this is what we kicked the show off with. A dark and slow number which we all liked, so we extended it a bit. It`s still a pretty short song though, clocks in at about 2 minutes I think. Handling the vocals & solo guitar is Peder of LOWRIDER fame.
08: BLACK BLACK MAGIC
2nd appearance from Singe on vocals. A hard, angry and groovy tune played hard, angry and groovy. Me & Tommi improvised it in the studio in like five minutes. Can`t wait to play this one live. It`s simply gonna slay.
09: MASTERPLAN
Another one me & Tommi improvised in the studio. Great vocals and great acoustic guitars on this one! It was first thought to be a spaced out instrumental but then Fredrik tried out some vox and it sounded great, so no idea making it an instrumental then.
10: NO TIME LIKE RIGHT NOW!
La grande finale! We finish off with a straight forward rocker with some absolutely excellent guitarsolos! Played this one live on the minitour september `02, but we`ve changed the verses a bit since then.
