Well, it's common knowledge that the gents released a mini CD last year called Parasite to celebrate their breakup with EMI. If nothing else that release proved that the Mustasch story was far from over. But this new albumwellit blows me away. It upstages anything the band did previously. Everything is turned into a stepping stone to this finest hour. More raunchy and rugged than ever before Ralf Gyllenhammar and his mates take over the controls. The filthy inflammable mixture of stoner and rock'n roll with spikes of The Cult and Black Sabbath has always been and will always be the foundation on which the gents do their thing, but this time around they incorporated a whole orchestra in there. This gives the sound a more mature and fuller vibe. Hell, the band does it again. Again they make a believer out of me. It's not the question if the major crowd picks up on them, but when they do it. Fact of the matter is that if you're into some genuine hard hitting rock, this is your recipe!

Now, what I like the most is the refreshing and uplifting feeling that covers the whole album, despite the blackness of the artwork. This is all but depressing music, almost feelgood metal, if that would exist...I hear some Spiritual Beggars here and there in the music, some strong Dio / Black Sabbath influences. From time to time, the band goes shopping in some other genres as well, like for example the strings parts give the album from time to time a 70's blaxploitation feeling (no shit!), and sometimes it goes as funky that I think I can recognize Red Hot Chili Peppers influences. I guess it's those 'exotic' influences that make the music sound so uplifting!
