The Pollen have a mix of sounds under the Stoner sky. Some of it is upbeat high energy tunes that really move, and at other times it just trucks down the blues based dirge highway full of hooks and psychedelic fuzzed out grooves. These guys are like a mix between Fu Manchu, early Monster Magnet (especially the guitar tones) and some southern rock styling...mainly reminds me of Suplecs once in a while as far as particular southern bands. Good hooks throughout and the riffs really keep your attention going with the extra little parts thrown in to keep it more than interesting. Good grooves, good times...beers and bong hits all the way. I dig it- also has a touch of Mudhoney in there once in while. File this one near Nebula, Mudhoney and Spine of God.
