With it's deafening riffs, massive tones and precision playing, Wolverine Blues shines with spectacular guitar work, more than any other death metal album in recent memoryOn all levels, Wolverine Blues is a death metal masterpiece.

The songs are structured more in the tradition of classic rock than grindcore, but make no mistake, these guys still fuckin shred! Uffe Cederlunds and Alex Hellids buzzsaw guitars lead the assault, guided by Nicke Anderssons (now singer/guitarist for the Hellacopters) crushing drum work. Lars-Goran Petrovs raw, throaty vocals are the icing on the cake. Favorite songs for me include Wolverine Blues, Hollowman and especially Contempt. Id recommend this to anyone into the heavier, more metallic stoner rock bands, like Alabama Thunderpussy or High on Fire. If youre interested in checking out Entombed, I think this is the place to start.
