Accolades for Dropout!
On Dropout! Baby Woodrose come off as a retro version of Monster Magnet (mostly due to the vocals), with the atmosphere of both Brant Bjorks solo work and The Hellacopters, and with, of course, an appreciation for 60s garage pop and rock. But thats mostly due to the cover choices, all of which date from that point in time. Dropout! is a tribute to the bands that helped shape Baby Woodroses sound. While the songs may be from one particular point in time, the range is varied spanning from the sweet pop of Loves "Can't Explain" to the psychedelic rock of Captain Beefheart and His Magic Bands Dropout Boogie to the nihilistic rage of The Stooges Not Right.
