Accolades for Thy Kingdom Come
Doomshine plays old school, clean sung doom. Comparisons to me are Solitude Aeturnus and another relatively new doom band, Thunderstorm mixed heavily with an epic feel of a band like While Heaven Wept. I would go even as far to say that at times this could even be a borderline power metal release. Vocals are super melodic and full of emotion showing both great range and power...and I love scorching guitar solos dripping with doom. To sum it up, when you first pop this CD in, you may do like I did and ask to yourself what is so special about this release, but this thing grows and grows on you to the point you dont want to take it out of your CD player as it hones in on you. Great doom release that is highly recommended.
This album oozes class and quality. These guys all have aces up their sleeves: good production, great vocals (some of the best ever from a German band, possibly best even), strong songs and awesome leads. Epic doom is their game and they play it so well. Apart from Solitude Aeturnus and Well of Souls and Candlemass splitting up again before they even started, these guys pretty much are on top of this particular pile of doom.
