Masters of Reality, featuring Chris Goss, first came on the scene in 1989 with the Rick Rubin produced self-titled album. After the ill-fated tour that was the demise of the original line-up, ex-Cream drummer, Ginger Baker came on board with Goss to further define the undefinable sound of Masters. They created the critically acclaimed 1992 record, Sunrise on the Suffer Bus.

After tremendous speculation and anticipation, Chris Goss brings his production skills (Goss has become a much sought after producer working on projects, Queens of the Stone Age, Stone Temple Pilots, Kyuss, The Flys and others), to the new Masters of Reality CD, Welcome to the Western Lodge. It`s classic Masters, but rest assured, the band that cannot be categorized will surprise all with strange twists and unexpected turns.

As someone who is most at home while entrenched in the studio, Goss gives some insight into the world he creates when making a record, "The majority of my time is spent in recording studios," says Goss, "In ideal conditions, they can be wonderfully protective wombs for an artist. I prefer the setting tobe dark, cold and red; a highly ventilated opium den. But no religious iconcandles or cute kitsch is ever allowed. I prefer non-merciful gothicinspiration, a reminder to leave a deep scar on the body of work."
