| Hey everyone, this is Steve again... I will once and a while have updates and low down for you `all on the outside on what is happening here in the Washington, DC rock/pop scene.... After some time of inactivity The Cassettes have returned and currently finished working on the final touches for the debut self-titled album. This collection of songs were recorded with the "Mobile Mystic Gnome Studio" on location at "The Cabin" in Arlington, VA, yeah!!! Mystic Gnome of course best known for the recordings of the last 2 albums by Dead Meadow and engineering the much talked about Peel Sessions of last year! The Cassettes sprang forth from the musings and bedroom recordings of songwriter Shelby Cinca (ex-post-punk band, Frodus) and his group of cohorts including members of Dead Meadow, Stephen (Weird War/Make-Up) on drums and Jennifer Potter (ex-Gloryfades). Pop/rock music in the vain of The Beatles, Badfinger, and the great Todd Rundgren; infused with punk energy. So feel free to check out the new site, www.thecassettesmusic.com, down load some just mixed "snipits" from the upcoming full length and sign up on the mailing list for future show alerts! The Cassettes are still currently looking for a label to put out future releases so hopefully somewhere in cyber space there will be a friend with a lead and for those of you who write reviews and are interested let me know and I will get you a promo or better yet record release promo package when the ball gets rolling. Here are the Dead Meadow 2002 Tour Dates... www.deadmeadow.com |
