STONERROCK.COM
the heavy underground’s commons · est. 1999

The site that built the scene is coming home.

Before the feeds, before the algorithms, there was one address where the riff worshippers gathered. Reviews that mattered. Boards that birthed bands, tours, labels, and lifelong friendships. Then one day in 2010 it vanished into the void — and the scene has been homeless ever since.

We’re bringing it back — and growing it into the home the scene deserves.

The Story

  1. 1999 StonerRock.com launches (December 15) and becomes the central hub, newsroom, and message board of stoner rock, doom, and the heavy underground.
  2. 2001–2010 The golden era: 58,866 registered members, 3,233,338 forum posts, and the review archive of record for an entire genre.
  3. 2010 November 29: the site is “suddenly sucked into the void.” A decade of scene history goes dark overnight.
  4. 2018–2020 A brief reboot flickers and fades.
  5. 2026 November 5: the domain comes home. Restoration begins — the museum first, then the newsroom, then, if the scene wants it, the boards.
