Los Natas Tour Diary (Week Two)

One of the stock questions I usually ask bands is “How`s the tour been going?” Los Natas is currently trekking through Europe supporting their last album, El Hombre Montaña. Given these two circumstances, it made sense to skip the middleman (me) and go straight to the source for something a little more in-depth. With that said, here`s week two of their tour diary.

Los Natas` El Hombre Montaña Europa Tour Diary

Monday, October 10: Antwerpen, Belgium - Trix Club

We arrived at the airport of Leuven and went straight to the backline rental, where we tuned everything up . Luckily everything was in good shape and screaming for a good dose of rock!

We started heading to Antwerpen, where we met the band Dozer. We had been on tour a couple of years before and are really anxious to play again with them. The club is brand new, very professional and everything is ready to rock.

This night was really full of surprises - many people, very good shows by the opening bands, and into the night we had the opportunity to invite Steve Houtmeyers (Hypnos 69` guitarist) to play “Born to be Wild” with us! What a performance!

Thursday, October 11: Den Helder, The Netherlands - De Engel Club

Already off to the next stage of the tour, moving on to Den Helder, a quiet village of Vikings that come in size extra large. We were the only band performing at the club of a friend we meet some years ago. It will be remembered as one of the concerts where you really enjoy playing music on stage. A long night, many drinks, and one more day of the Hombre Montaña tour is over.

Friday, October 12: Enschede, The Netherlands - Attac Club

We are really comfortable in The Netherlands due to their kindness and amenities… We arrived in Enschede to play an the Attac Club. According to the people, it`s a club where they usually go to listen to real music or “interesting proposals.” After that introduction, the only option they gave us after this statement was to give it everything again, and nailing our flag the deepest we could with our musical proposal called Los Natas. The audience was cool. I think they understood and enjoyed the trip.

Saturday, October 13: Eindhoven, The Netherlands - Rambler Club

Saturday emotions and a party mood, a concert to come, one less to go. At the club we meet a group of Swedish film makers that came specially to film our show (a real honor for us). Everything was set, first a home band and then we performed for two hours.

Sunday, October 14: Hildesheim, Germany- Thav Club

Germany – the climate is getting really cold, the green is turning into yellow…

We arrived at a typically small town in the middle of nowhere, a strange club, small but powerful, local people, many of the local life, and one more show. Luckily the magic of the music breaks the barriers of the language and we introduced ourselves into the local atmosphere. Driven by a group of very cool old school hippies, we give a long concert, heating up the place. Obviously we tasted the local beers, while the life and the tour goes on.

Tuesday, October 16: Nuremberg, Germany - Kunstverein Club

After a well deserved day off, we arrived in Nuremberg. Emblematic city, people seem cold as ice, but we are decided to melt the ice over those cold heads that seem so harsh, but inside we know are like candy!

Punk rock styled local club. The people of Kunstverein Club were really supportive of us, we managed to do a small, humble show. People said that the concert was great, long and emotional.

Wednesday, October 17: Nuremberg, Germany - Kulturhof

Waldo´s birthday, another day on tour, one more excuse for an after show party. A punk club and a huge dose of rock were the recipe to avoid thinking of the cold weather that gets inside your bones. Lots of people for a Wednesday, we were surprised and glad to see a bunch of people that are facing the cold to listen and see us play.

Thursday, October 18: Berlin, Germany - Tommy Weissbecker Haus
El Universo Perdido de Los Natas Release Party

Finally we are here. This is one of the concerts we were eager to do - the El Universo Perdido de Los Natas double long play release party was now a tangible and real thing in our lives. Slowly, the club was getting crowded, we were heading towards a long, heavy and brain storming concert. It was really the party we expected for so long. Hans came to the show together with the whole staff off Nasoni records (this LP is released through this label in Europe).

The show was more than two hours long. We ended up all sweaty, hot and tired, but on the other hand conquered one of our dreams.

Friday, October 19: Jena, Germany - Rosenkeller Club

Woo! A medieval winery turned into a club. The place is really amazing. The style and the sound quality of the club is great, house people are very good hosts. El Topo is performing with us - remember him? He joined us some days ago. A heavy, potent show.

This is the set list, we`ve been playing for the last week.

Remember, this is Los Natas, in the middle it may have changed, some songs could mutate into another and inside another… Or maybe we just do not remember the whole set list because of the moment.
