Los Natas Tour Diary (Week One)

One of the stock questions I usually ask bands is “How`s the tour been going?” Los Natas is currently trekking through Europe supporting their last album, El Hombre Montaña. Given these two circumstances, it made sense to skip the middleman (me) and go straight to the source for something a little more in-depth. With that said, here`s week one of their tour diary.

Los Natas` El Hombre Montaña Europa Tour Diary

Day 1: Madrid, Spain

After the typical “bocata de tortilla” and much raw ham, we finally understand that the tour has started. One more time, we are prepared and anxious to rock!

Once our minds and bodies were prepared, we went partying with some local friends until it was time to catch the flight to Mallorca, city of our first show of the El Hombre Montaña Europa Tour 2007.

Day 2: Palma de Mallorca, Spain

After sleeping the whole flight, we arrived at the nice island, but discovered the airline missed the two cymbal cases! After some discussions, we went straight to the club and stretched the mind. The place is the Casino Royale, a well known cavern club. Two Argentineans - good friends of ours - el Gato y el Chuli (former members of a band Called Fun People) were the opening band for us! So, the gig was very good, we really enjoyed it very much and among friends and the after show was very long.

Day 3: Sevilla, Spain

We finally arrived, and we picked up our friend Topo Armetta (former member of an Argentinean band called Massacre), who sings two songs in our new record, El Universo Perdido…. We welcome Topo and head straight again to the venue. It´s good, and everything was easy and the concert was good, we are starting to enjoy playing every day! Let´s see how we are going for the end of the tour.

Day 4: Barcelona, Spain

Almost without any rest, we went to Barcelona. We are going to perform at the famous Apollo. It was pouring the whole trip from Sevilla to Barcelona, so guess what? We got there a little late, so no sound check…

Brant Bjork was there. Always a pleasure to meet him again, he is one of our good friends in Europe. We enjoyed Lords of Bukake´s gig until our show. The sound avalanche came at last, and Brant joined us in “Allens Wrench” (Kyuss) the cherry of the cake for all the people who were there!

Of course, the after show, with Brant and many drinks, was a late night.

Day 5: Barcelona, Spain

Again, not only a minute of rest, but a nice day at the beach, a swim in the ocean. Some drinks to enjoy a day off with Brant without rush.

Day 6: Vitoria, Spain

We finally got some rest!

After a nice good sleep in a friend´s house, we headed towards Vitoria. The venue was Hell Dorado, where we spent a long night with two or three local bands and the “vasca” people who are music lovers.

Day 7: Madrid, Spain

Our last show in Spain. We are starting to feel a little bit tired - not so many hours of good sleep, many people to know and share life experiences with besides the shows. We struggled to hang on, many overnights and after shows… and some local additives that leave you a little bit confused…

Now, we have a free day, some of us are working on the next cities to come, some of us are sleeping and having some rest. We are heading to Belgium, so far the tour has been good: many old and new friends and good food, drinks and the most important thing: ourselves enjoying the shows and playing together.

We have 22 more concerts to come, and then one week of families, friends and some rest at home before starting our gigs in Argentina but, so long the tour has been excellent for us!
